The island’s Annual Open Studios event was first held in 2012 to provide people with the opportunity of visiting practising artists and craftspeople in their studios. I was delighted and excited to join this group.

Over the Bank Holiday weekend I enjoyed many interesting and enthusiastic conversations with visiting holiday makers and locals alike. Many of these were artists themselves, and a number shared that they come to Arran specifically for the Open Studio event. Their informed feedback was encouraging and helpful with a few sales being made along the way.
